Dark Horse Training was founded by Chris Sebestyen in 2016 to provide firearms and self-defense training to businesses and individuals. Since the beginning, we have grown to include building, selling, and transferring of firearms.
We are a full-service business that covers all of your needs — not only through our training but through our partners. That includes perimeter hardening for your business or home, security guard services, First Aid, and K9 Training.

Hi! I'm Chris. I started this company to help people feel safer and more secure in their self-defense training.
Over the years I have been to many trainings. While some were great, others had their share of problems. I created Dark Horse Training with a very simple approach: how do we educate and equip you correctly to use a firearm and practice self-defense? Our goal is to help you feel comfortable around firearms and to recognize when someone around you isn't practicing safety while in possession of one.
In a perfect situation, one would begin training at a young age. I started in Boy Scouts and was the youngest Eagle Scout in California at the time. I learned firearms basics from the Scouts, and my father took the time to show me the fundamentals of marksmanship and safety. I understand that not everyone has this opportunity — and that's why I created Dark Horse Training.
I have spent a lot of time training and learning over the years and working in high-stress environments. My background ranges from being trained as a Range Safety Officer and Instructor by some of the best in the business. I keep my certifications up to date through NRA, USCCA, and LFP training classes.
To teach you to become the weapon and the gun to be a tool to achieve your defense. We want you to feel prepared in any situation to handle yourself, your business, or your household with the proper training and techniques.
A variety of classes ranging from beginner to advanced — Pistol, Rifle, Long Range, Low Light and Shotgun, plus working with suppressed weapons. We teach the basics for your gun such as cleaning, assembly, and disassembly, we are a full-service provider of suppressors and accessories, and we teach CCW classes to make sure people are aware of deadly force and ramifications.
A full array of self-defense using techniques from Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, boxing and JKD. We teach the use of night vision and non-lethal tactics including baton, taser, and defense tactics, as well as escape and evade and situational awareness.
Specific training for your business and staff: active shooter training, awareness training, self-defense for employees, and firearms training. We walk through with your employees and create scenarios to educate and prepare you and your team for any situation.
Our classes run at real, professional facilities across the Phoenix area — no conference-room-only training.
